John Dyhouse is ARTYFAX
I have been painting for many years and most of that time I was solely using watercolours. recently I have been using artists' soft pastels more and more, and reallising that they are really the future I see for myself in art.
I am most at home with landscape sketches and this is what this site is about. I love the outdoors and find that the colours can be so inspiring as they change throught the seasons. Although, in my early years as an artist I did worry over my draughtmanship and worked hard to improve my drawing skills. I have realised however, that I am perfectly happy painting landscapes which do not require to be drawn accurately to feel a sense of fulfillment with my work.
I also have cultivated a love of abstract, or rather semi-abstracct if I can used that term, since much of my work evolves around colour and texture.
